(Munich, January 11, 2023) Dr. Alexandra Coffey was appointed Senior Sustainability Manager of the KraussMaffei Group on January 1, 2023. She reports directly to the Management Board. Coffey comes from the Schörghuber Group, where she was also responsible for sustainability. Her thematic focus areas are CO2, single-use plastics, the environment and supply chain sourcing obligations. With the creation of this new position, KraussMaffei is reinforcing its strategy of becoming a completely sustainable company in the medium and long term. By 2030, the Group wants to achieve a corporate carbon footprint of zero and operate all plants worldwide in a CO2-neutral manner.
"Striving for greater sustainability is an absolute must for us as a leading manufacturer of machinery and equipment for the production and processing of plastics and rubber. We are pursuing ambitious goals in this regard and are positioning ourselves accordingly for the future. We are therefore particularly pleased to have gained a highly experienced sustainability expert in Dr. Alexandra Coffey for an increasingly complex regulatory environment," says KraussMaffei Board Member Jörg Bremer.
Prior to her position as Senior Manager Sustainability at the Schörghuber Group, Coffey was Director Corporate Responsibility at Sky Germany for six years. Her task will now be to further develop and implement KraussMaffei's global sustainability strategy. The company has set itself the goal of being one of the best machine and system manufacturers for the plastics industry in the areas of sustainability and cost-effectiveness by 2025. In addition, KraussMaffei has set itself the following goals for the coming years:
- By 2023, KraussMaffei will achieve the "Silver" rating level of the world's most reliable sustainability rating from EcoVadis.
- By 2026, KraussMaffei will reach the EcoVadis “Gold” rating level.
- By 2030, KraussMaffei achieves a corporate carbon footprint of zero - all plants worldwide are operated CO2-neutrally.
- By 2035, KraussMaffei will achieve a Product Carbon Footprint of zero - all machines will be manufactured in a CO2-neutral manner.
Dr. Coffey says of her new responsibilities: "There are standards that KraussMaffei must meet as a global company and there are self-imposed sustainability goals that the company wants to meet in addition. I am very much looking forward to my new task in an exciting environment. My incentive is to make a contribution to achieving our sustainability goals and to have responsibility in mind for both today's and future generations.
